UNDER ADVANCE TAP. QOS-RATELIMITING. set upstream and downstream to 10000000
SWITCH
Whenever you have Sonos/Directv on a system- mandatory. If you don't, still best practice.
Managed switch, go to ADVANCE- STP-GLOBAL SETTINGS set from 32768 TO 4096.
***When you set priority on the Switch, you must go to the waps and ENABLE STP on the advance-spanning tree section. Only enable it, don't change any of it's settings.
If you have a control system. Enabled everything under ADVANCE-MULTICAST-IGMP SNOOPING.
DO NOT ENABLE URC STATE, unless you are using URC devices.
WAPS
IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO STATIC AN ACCESS POINT FROM INSIDE THE ACCESS POINT.
BEST PRACTICE IS TO DO A DHCP RESERVATION FOR IT ON THE ROUTER.
When in a small location, it is good to keep your SSID to one, on both bands.
IT IS GOOD PRACTICE TO SEPARATE THE BANDS WHEN YOU ARE IN A CITY.
It is not good to place special characters on an SSID NAME such as-.:'
*** HP printers will not connect to a wap that had band steering and fast roaming on while the ssid
has a password. TO SOLVE---
Create a separate SSID only broadcasting 2.4. leave security open-disable broadcast
