MXNET Firmware Update: Troubleshooting Guide

Issue Overview:

AVPro Edge’s latest FPGA firmware update (version 9.18.9) introduces valuable enhancements, but some users with older firmware (version 9.13.1) may experience compatibility issues, including:

  • Picture dropout (video cuts in and out)
  • Sound with no picture (audio works, but no video)

These issues are typically due to a mismatch between the firmware on your MXNET devices and CBOX, but rest assured that resolving them is straightforward.

Affected Models:

The following MXNET models may be affected:

  • AC-MXNET-1G-EV2
  • AC-MXNET-1G-DV2
  • AC-MXNET-CBOX (Including -B and -HA)
  • AC-MXNET-1G-AVDM-EV2
  • AC-MXNET-1G-DANTE-EV2
  • AC-MXNET-1G-DANTE-DV2
  • AC-MXNET-1G-EVWP2

How to Check:

  1. Log into the web interface of your MXNET encoder/decoder or CBOX.
  2. Check the firmware version in the System Information or Device Settings.
  3. Verify Compatibility: If you're on version 9.13.1 or earlier, and experiencing issues, it's likely a compatibility mismatch.

What to Do:

1. Update the CBOX

To resolve the compatibility issue, it’s essential to update your CBOX firmware to the latest version. This ensures full compatibility with your MXNET devices.

For detailed instructions, visit the AVPro Edge support portal: Update CBOX Firmware

2. Downgrade Firmware (Optional)

If you prefer to stay with your current firmware version or if the latest updates are not resolving the issue, you can downgrade to version 9.13.1. This option may provide a more stable setup for your system.

For assistance with downgrading, please feel free to contact Aldous Systems. Our support team is happy to help you with this process and ensure that your system is running smoothly.
