TPLink PoE Recovery function and issues it may cause
TPLink have a feature in some switches called PoE recovery
Info on this feature is light, but in our opinion it appears to monitor the data stream to a connected device and if it senses a loss of data traffic it will reboot the port, which is fine for "noisy" devices like a cctv camera but not for devices that may be dormant for a while like an access control reader.
The example situation where this was found was an Access Control Reader that triggered a remote network based relay when the credential was entered - it was being found to be out of sync between the access reader switch state and the lock state.
This is to be expected as the Access Reader was rebooting because of the PoE feature and being out of sync when powering back up with the actual status of the lock.
Ensure to disable this PoE Recovery feature in the network switch otherwise constant reboots of connected devices might be experienced
