Using Traceroute on OvrC hub to identify network issues

If a client is experiencing unusual network behaviour or devices dropping off the hub, running a traceroute may help identify issues, specifically how many node hops are happening,

Once you login to the OvrC Hub (default credentials are user: ovrc, password: ovrc ) You’ll see a traceroute button. From there you’ll enter in the IP address of the device you want to test, and hit the traceroute button beside it, and it will show you the amount of hops. The max it will show is 30.

If you see an unusually high number of hops, check for network loops, or if Sonos (or similar) is on the system then configure STP appropriately.
