Furman F1500 UPS Error Codes
1. BATTERY FAULT E1
Fault E1 is reported if the battery does not reach a normal float voltage after being charged for 8 hours. The error may indicate a battery with a shorted cell that can result in excessive charging current and potential thermal runaway.
2. BATTERY FAULT E2
After the battery voltage reaches a normal float voltage while being charged by the UPS, a 5 minute load test is performed to verify that the battery impedance is low enough to support a load. This test is repeated every two hours while the batteries are float charged and prevents what might be considered a "silent" failure that can leave a customer without protection from AC line power interruptions.
3. BATTERY FAULT E3
The test associated with this error is in earlier versions of the UPS firmware. The error is reported when the UPS battery is disconnected, absent, or when the battery cannot accept a charge.
When any of these messages appear on the display of the UPS, they are accompanied by the text "REPLACE BATTERY". The E1 and E2 faults are the most serious and denote that the battery must be replaced.
