Gmail Allow less secure apps no longer working

As of 30/05/22 Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password.  This will effect Visualint cameras that are using Gmail to send email notifications.

The solution is to use a dedicated app password for Visualint.  This can be set up by following the instructions below.
  1. Log in to the Gmail account, and click on "Manage Your Google Account" under the profile icon.
  2. Under Security, make sure that 2-Step Verification is enabled.
  3. Under Security, click "App Passwords".  You will be prompted for your Google account password again.
  4. From the select app drop down select "Custom", and choose a name, then hit generate and make a note of the password it gives you
  5. Log into the camera web UI, and go to Configuration > Alarm Management > Email Alarm
  6. Copy the newly generated Google app password into the password field on the camera.
